Tip #1: Ensure Your Utmost Convenience
Make sure the self service Laundromat is located close to your home or place of business so you can easily walk there. Find out if there is free wi-fi so you can get some work done or browse the web while there. Ask if the laundry provider offers debit card systems for the washing machines and dryers so you don’t have to carry cumbersome change all the time. Ask about 24 hour access, too.
Tip #2: Make Sure There’s an Attendant on Duty
Especially for those late nights, you want the peace of mind knowing an attendant is on duty in case trouble arises or a machine breaks down. It helps to know someone’s in charge if you need to refill your laundry card, buy some detergent or fix a machine that’s on the fritz. While you’re at it, ask about security surveillance 24 hours a day.
Tip #3: Look into Extra Amenities
Many laundries these days make it easy for you to stay a couple of hours and get your clothing done. From wi-fi and flat screen TVs to free, ample parking and snacks, they’ve got you covered. Some have children’s areas where kids can play or draw, and others have coffee and snack stations where you can get yourself a cup of joe and a pastry. Some also have arcade games. Wash, dry and fold services may also be available, as well as drop off.
