Day Care Centers in 60653 Zip Code
Types of Day Care Centers

For children who are not yet old enough for kindergarten, day care can be the perfect option. Day care centers offer classes and programs for all different ages. Many centers offer care for infants, toddlers and up to kindergarten age. Day cares take pride in employing caring teachers and offering a wide range of activities for kids. Arts, crafts, meal time and more are on most centers’ schedules. However, each day care facility is unique in how it teaches and its missions. Here are some different types of day cares.

  • Montessori – A Montessori day care facility has its own teaching method. The Montessori education system is based on the idea that children and even infants can learn through discovery and essentially teach themselves if given the correct tools. At Montessori each toy, project and part of the day is structured so that children can teach themselves about the world through observation, the five senses, sharing and more.
  • Language Immersion – Language immersion centers teach students a second language by only speaking the foreign language throughout the day. When children are taught, play and socialize throughout the day in a new language they often are able to pick it up very quickly.
  • Family Day Care - Family day cares are typically held at a private but licensed home. There are usually far less kids enrolled in a family center as opposed to larger school setting. Family day cares often offer flexible drop off and pick up time.
  • Specialized Day Care – Some day cares specialize in teaching young children who have a disability. Children who are autistic, blind, deaf or have any other learning or physical disability may value greatly from attending a center specialized to their needs and development.
